Eriko Yamaguchi - A Small Step Forward

A Small Step Forward, a Global Vision Realized

I am thrilled to share a milestone that feels both small and monumental: yesterday, we officially launched the ERIKO YAMAGUCHI online store in the United States. This digital home represents the culmination of a year and a half of intense collaboration, trial and error, and shared passion.

The Power of a Common Language

Throughout this journey, I often heard the phrase, "America and Japan are different". While it is easy to focus on our cultural and value-based differences, doing so often makes it impossible to take a step forward. My time in America has reaffirmed my belief that we must never stop searching for common ground, no matter how small.

For my team and me, that common ground was found in the products themselves. Overcoming every clash of perspective and cultural barrier, we were united by a simple, shared realization: "This bag is great". Our products became the bridge that allowed us to believe we could reach beyond borders.

19 Years of Sincere Commitment

The launch of this site is a direct challenge born from a philosophy I created 19 years ago: "Creating a globally recognized brand from a developing country." Seeing products carefully crafted in places like Bangladesh finally reach customers in the United States is the ultimate fulfillment of that commitment.

The Road Ahead

Our initial lineup is carefully curated and limited, but we plan to expand as we roll out our advertising and listen to the American market. I will continue to walk the line between creator and entrepreneur—balancing digital data with my own "analog" ruler—to ensure we create the best possible stage for these "children" (our products).

My ultimate hope is that the common perspective we found through a single bag will eventually grow into a deep empathy for the values and craftsmanship of developing countries.

Even as I write this, I am heading back to Bangladesh to continue the work on the other side of the border. Seeing this website go live brings me to tears of joy.
