My journey into the United States has accelerated beyond expectation. Private exhibitions in New York and Los Angeles drew enthusiastic crowds, with many trying on ERIKO YAMAGUCHI pieces and sparking meaningful connections.
Clarifying My Vision
I wrestled with our options—stores, wholesale, digital channels, exhibitions, PR. Budget limits and corporate caution narrowed paths, but wholesale alone felt hollow: mere sales without deeper impact. What society do I envision? Not just business growth—Asia offers surer gains there. Instead, dreams propel me: showcasing Bangladesh’s craftsmanship beyond fast fashion, distinguishing Asia’s diverse nations like India from Bangladesh in American eyes.

Moments of Insight
Interactions across the US revealed cultural gaps and sharpened my purpose. Exhibitions and talks stirred a swell of messages I yearn to share, transforming vague ideals into clear intent. Heart and mind aligned through trial and error—discomfort, annoyance, surprise—yielding decisions that feel courageous, not for profit or company, but for a profound personal conviction.
Forging the Path Forward
Digital storytelling emerged as the ideal start: introducing ourselves online to connect with value-aligned Americans. From there, invite them to Bangladesh to witness our artisans’ beauty and skill firsthand. Biweekly strategy sessions culminated in a New Year’s Eve 2024 contract for digital, website, advertising, and branding—sealed at a 7-Eleven. Filming in a New York YouTube studio marked our brand's bold beginning in the United States.
